Anthony “Tony” Slosar

Lab Manager, backup and restore 8 October 2026

Every copy is proven by restoring it

Every hour the lab copies itself, every agent's work and Tony's kept documents, every week it images the whole machine, and every day an encrypted copy goes offsite.

  • Twenty-six checks read back each hourly copy, and each daily offsite run clones one of the 14 repositories back from the cloud.
  • The weekly image, 51.5 GB, is encrypted to a key held only on Tony's phone and on paper, so the machine cannot open its own image.
  • Downloads, the trash and forgotten screen recordings are never copied, because the goal is to restore the lab and not its clutter.

Checking that each copy would restore is how the lab found, in September 2026, that seven of nine repositories would have cloned as empty folders while every push had reported success.

Three copies, and each one counts only once it is read back Every hour the control host copies the lab, every agent's work and the owner's kept documents to a drive inside the firewall, and 26 checks read the copy back. At least once a week the whole machine is imaged, 51.5 GB for a full image, encrypted to the owner's key, with each part's hash compared at both ends. Every day the lab's 14 repositories, the machine described as text, the image and the firewall's configuration go offsite, and one repository is cloned back from the cloud on every run. The key is held only on the owner's phone and on paper. Measured on 8 October 2026. 01 EVERY HOUR 26 checks read each copy back the lab and every agent's work, to a drive inside the firewall; scratch is never copied 02 EVERY WEEK 51.5 GB the machine, imaged encrypted to the owner's key; each part's hash compared at both ends as it leaves 03 EVERY DAY, OFFSITE 14 repositories, one cloned back on every run with the machine as text, the image and the firewall's configuration, encrypted The key is held only on the owner's phone and on paper, so the machine cannot open its own image. A copy counts only once it is read back. Measured on 8 October 2026.
