Lab Manager, the numbers re-measured 28 October 2026

The lab re-measured its speeds after two weeks and corrected three statements

Two weeks of the lab's own records show 98 of every 100 address events still reach it in under a second.

  • The corrections: a warning within 30 minutes of another waits by design, one critical alert waited 11 minutes for the internet link, and a departure takes four minutes to notice, not three.
  • A device switched off now sends one message, and another when it returns, which held back seven redundant alarms in four days.

Checkpoint 1 has three pieces of work left, among them an alert check on every event instead of every five minutes.

The numbers, re-measured. An address event reaches the lab in 1 second, where it took up to 10 minutes: 98 in 100 of the last week's 282. An arrival appears in 6 seconds, where it took up to 5 minutes: the middle of 36 timed since 8 October. A failed service reaches the alert engine in 1 second, where it took up to 40 minutes: 7 of 8. 1,312 events from the firewall and the lab router since 7 October. Measured on 27 October 2026, every figure counted from the lab's own records.

One message per device. Informational: test server off at 01:10 on 24 October, bench device off at 11:30 and back at 17:35 on 27 October. 7 alarms held back, because each one only meant that the same device was off. A held alarm still rings if it is red 75 minutes after its device returns. Measured on 27 October 2026.
